Support and donors

The Centre was founded through the generous support of the Hellenic communities of New Brunswick and UNB’s Faculty of Arts and Department of Classics and Ancient History as well as the Consulate General of Greece in Montreal.

An endowment was created with the help of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Community of Saint John, New Brunswick and the Consulate General of Greece in Montreal. This fund will be used to support the various projects of the Centre.

Two additional scholarships were offered by the Greek Canadian Community of New Brunswick for undergraduate and graduate students:

  • The Athena scholarship
  • The Aristotle scholarship

In the past, the Greek Ministry of Culture offered an annual scholarship for a one-month Greek language program in Thessaloniki and the Greek Ministry of Education has sent a language instructor for Modern Greek to UNB.

We also received numerous book donations from various agencies in Greece that will help to expand our library research facilities for students, faculty and the public.
