Caen Squires is the joint Communications Officer for the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (MMFC), the Fergusson Foundation, and the Human Rights & Positive Environment Office of UNB. They hold a Diploma from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design in Graphic Design as well as a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree from the University of New Brunswick. Caen comes into their position with experience in branding, content development, marketing & communications.

Caen is an active member of the Fredericton community with experience in community engagement, motivational/public speaking, group advocacy, risk analysis as well as workshop facilitation and knowledge transfer. As an identifying member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, they are active on a number of boards/committees on and off of the UNB campus including, but not limited to, The 203 Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity, Fierté Fredericton Pride, and the Creating Positive Spaces at UNB working group; Caen is committed to working and educating through the lenses of equity, diversity & inclusion.
