Maureen graduated from St. Thomas University with an Arts degree in 1989 with a major in Business and Economics courses from UNB. After graduation, she sold radio advertising at a local radio station. Soon after, Maureen started a family and was home raising four children for many years. When she returned to the workforce, she worked for EduLinx Canada Corporation for 10 years, which managed Students Loans through the Banks and UNB.

After a brief position with UNB Financial Services she came to Forestry and Environmental Management in 2007. Maureen supports the faculty office by assisting Faculty members and undergraduate students. She is also responsible for liaising with the University regarding exam requests, room bookings and course timetabling, and coordinates the administering of the student opinion surveys.

In her spare time, Maureen is an avid skier and has her Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance Level 2 (CSIA). She ski instructs on winter weekends at Crabbe Mountain and enjoys gardening during the summer. Maureen is an avid runner, swimmer, and cyclist and enjoys training for and participating in triathlons. She enjoys painting in watercolour, making pottery, stained glass, rug hooking and quilting.
