Matthew Hurly is a member of the part-time faculty within the MBA Program. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree, as well as his Graduate Diploma in Engineering, through the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a graduate of the UNB Saint John MBA program. He has been a member of the Project Management Institute since 2000 and has been certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2002.

Matthew Hurly is a Project Manager with over 20 years experience managing projects both in Canada and South Africa, predominantly in the petroleum and metals refining industries. He has performed various project management roles on projects ranging from small engineering studies to multi-million dollar projects. His experience includes developing projects starting from business problem definition, liaising with the business / commercial parts of the organization, developing project execution plans, estimates and schedules, and then executing the projects through engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning.

He has extensive experience in managing many small projects concurrently. In addition he has a strong interest in and understanding of project gating processes. He has experience in working with technology licensors and providers as well as managing projects being executed in multiple locations.

Matthew Hurly has been lecturing in the UNBSJ MBA program since 2011.
