Akhila Chawla joined the Faculty of Business Administration in 2015 and is a member of the Accounting area.

Dr. Chawla currently teaches introductory and advanced financial accounting courses. Her research interests include Social Accounting, management accounting and management control systems, accountability and governance as well as accounting for non-profit organizations. She has been a part of the organizing team for conferences such as Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Alternative Accounts Conference.

Dr. Chawla has a B.Com, a Master’s in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University and a PhD (Accounting) from the Schulich School of Business, York University. Her industry experience includes the positions of Senior Financial Analyst and Manager in the field of Investment Banking and Private Equity.
