Event Details:

The UNB International Law Society is pleased to announce its annual International Humanitarian Law Conference in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross. This year the conference seeks to raise awareness about vulnerable populations, focusing on the impact of armed conflict on the protection of members of the LGBTQ+ community and those discriminated against due to their gender or sexual identities.

Join us at the UNB Law Building (room 2) as we explore the role that International Humanitarian Law (IHL) plays in dealing with contemporary challenges to the protection of civilians in situations of armed conflict. This year’s conference will focus on the impact of conflict on protection of members of the LGBTQ+ community and those discriminated against due to their gender or sexual identities or expressions.

Organized in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, we will bring together academics, and representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Amnesty International Canada.

This is a free public event, with a catered lunch. Please register for the conference.
