The ASD-S Science Fair & STEM Expo South 2020 will be held in the G. Forbes Elliot Athletic Centre.

Dr. Tim Alderson, Executive Chair, Mr. Darren White, Co-Chair, and Dr. M.H. (Moe) Hamdan, Chief Judge and Science Fair Coordinator, extend this warm welcome to participating students, parents, guardians and teachers to the 2020 ASDS Science Fair and the first STEM Expo South. We look forward to meeting you, and thank you in advance for joining us in this great celebration of science. We have a team of judges who are experts in their fields, from industry and academia, who are thrilled to have this opportunity to view and evaluate your creative output. We are confident you will have an enriching experience with us and an enjoyable day. We have planned a number of activities throughout the day that will end with the Awards Ceremony. We do have a good number of prizes that we cannot wait to award to you.

We encourage parents, guardians and teachers to join us, from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., to view the STEM Expo exhibitions. More than 20 STEM related industries will be represented to provide attendees with an opportunity for networking.  Public viewing of the students’ projects will take place from 2:30 - 4 p.m.

Admission to the event is free of charge and parking is complementary. Events of the day will proceed as per the following schedule.

Events Schedule for Science Fair Students

STEM Expo Viewing is from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

8 - 9 a.m. - Student Registration & Display Set Up and Inspection

9 - 9:30 a.m. - Welcome Address

9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Project Judging and STEM Experiences

12:30 -1:15 p.m. - Student Pizza Lunch (Provided). [Those with dietary restrictions will be accommodated].

1:15 - 2:30 p.m. - Pi Day Celebrations (with the Math Student Club)

2:30 - 4 p.m. - Public Viewing of Projects

4:10 - 5:30 p.m. - Awards Ceremony (Hazen Hall Lecture Theatre)
