Event Details:

An Art Hive is a free community art studio that welcomes everyone as an artist.

The Art Hive idea emerged out of a collaboration between UNB Counselling Services, the Art Zone and the Ntulsonawt Wellness Centre. “The idea was to offer a welcoming space for students to connect with each other emotionally, culturally and creatively --the art hive model seemed to offer just that!” said Susan Lee, Counsellor at UNBF Counselling Services. The group decided to hold two art hive events at the Art Zone in Memorial Hall, UNB, one at the Ntulsonawt Wellness Centre, Room 342 Marshall d’Avray Hall, and one in the Lower Atrium of the Student Union Building.

Students do not need to register and everyone is welcome to these free, informal, facilitated events.  No prior artistic talent is required.
The “Art Hive” concept was developed by Dr. Janis Timm-Bottos a professor and art therapist at Concordia University. She and her students have launched a national network of art hives across Canada. Please see www.arthives.org.
