The UNB Researchers’ Council
The Researchers’ Council was formed in late January 2014 as the collective voice of faculty researchers at UNB. It is an open council and all UNB faculty are invited to participate. The RC is preparing to address the challenges to undertake and complete successful research projects and programmes at UNB, challenges that have emerged in recent years. The RC’s first action was a letter to the Board of Governors that explained the challenges and asked a series of questions regarding current unknown policies of and decisions by the University Management Committee. The questions were both specific and broad in nature, but exemplified the challenges researchers at UNB are trying to address and overcome if we are to continue to be effective professors at a competitive, comprehensive national university that is the premier research institution for New Brunswick. For more information, please contact Allen Curry (Biology, Forestry, and Environmental Management, UNBF), Elizabeth Mancke (History, UNBF), Jeff Houlahan (Biology, UNBSJ), or Michael Thomas (CE, UNBF).
