We have been advised by New Brunswick Public Health of a possible exposure to COVID-19 on the UNB Fredericton campus.
If you were in Head Hall on Monday, Oct. 11 or Tuesday, Oct. 12, refer to the letter from New Brunswick Public Health and follow the testing, isolation and self-monitoring requirements based on your vaccination status. At this time, we do not anticipate any changes to our operations including classroom management or course delivery.
When a person is diagnosed with COVID-19, New Brunswick Public Health engages in rigorous contact tracing. New Brunswick Public Health, not the university, reaches out to those who are considered to be close contacts and provides advice.
UNB is working with New Brunswick Public Health and is taking all guidance and direction from them. Due to strict confidentiality and privacy requirements, UNB is provided with only the necessary information required to support contact tracing.
We will continue to provide the latest information on COVID-19 developments through UNB communication channels including email and unb.ca/coronavirus.
With kind regards,
Paul J. Mazerolle
President and Vice-Chancellor
