COVID-19 Update

May 23, 2020

Yesterday, Premier Higgs announced that New Brunswick is now moving to phase three or the yellow phase of the provincial recovery plan further loosening COVID-19 restrictions.

Although our province has flattened the curve, the COVID-19 threat is still present. We must remain diligent to minimize the risk of a new wave. UNB campuses remain closed to the public with spring/summer sessions continuing to be offered through alternative delivery learning methods.

UNB is taking a thoughtful and gradual approach to re-opening our campuses. We are developing operational plans in accordance with WorkSafeNB and New Brunswick Public Health guidelines that will ensure a safe environment for our community before resuming any activity on campuses. We are targeting June 1 to provide more details.

It is important that as a community, we continue to look out for each other and approach our peers and colleagues with empathy and kindness. If you or a member of your family are showing two symptoms of COVID-19, contact Tele-Care 811 or your primary health-care provider for further direction.

With kind regards,

Paul J. Mazerolle
President and Vice-Chancellor
