New Brunswick Public Health has confirmed that essential services and restricted access on UNB Fredericton will be lifted this evening at 11:59 p.m. Faculty, staff and students are permitted access to campus in accordance with your unit’s approved operational plan.
Careful contact tracing has been completed and all residents and staff of Magee House and Elizabeth Parr-Johnston required by Public Health to self-isolate are doing so. Access to these two buildings will remain restricted until we receive further direction from New Brunswick Public Health. Although we have confirmed cases of COVID-19 on campus, the risk of spread to other buildings and areas on campus is considered to be very low.
The safety and well-being of all members of the UNB community is our utmost concern. We must remain vigilant in following all Public Health and safety measures on campus.
We continue to monitor and review the situation daily and implement guidelines as directed by New Brunswick Public Health.
We will address your concerns and provide the latest information on COVID-19 developments through UNB communication channels including email, social media and unb.ca/coronavirus.
With kind regards,
Paul J. Mazerolle
President and Vice-Chancellor
