Effective Friday, Jan. 14 at 11:59 p.m., the province of New Brunswick will move to Level 3 in the COVID Alert System.
UNB will take a transitional approach to the winter term that will allow us to assess the ongoing concern of the Omicron variant and limit the activities and gathering on our campuses.
The epidemiology of COVID-19 in the province is dynamic and requires us to be responsive to changes that impact the health and safety of our province including the delivery of health care and other services.
Following the guidance of Public Health and to assist our province in managing the impacts of the current outbreak, we are implementing the following changes at UNB:
Although our goal is to return to in-person activities and experiences, our priority is to protect the health and safety of students and employees while mitigating the risks of spreading the COVID-19 virus and protecting the health care system.
We continue to work closely with Public Health and we will keep students, faculty and staff apprised of any changes as we navigate the next weeks of the pandemic.
We appreciate your patience, flexibility and understanding throughout this challenging time. We look forward to seeing you back on campus soon.
With kind regards,
Paul J. Mazerolle
