We have learned of confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the UNB Fredericton campus. At the direction of New Brunswick Public Health, UNB Fredericton will be returning to essential services immediately for 72 hours to allow for further assessment of the current situation.
This closure will provide New Brunswick Public Health and UNB the opportunity to properly assess the current COVID-19 situation on our campus. This step is being taken in light of the positive cases on campus that may be a variant of concern in our community.
Effective immediately, we will be scaling down operations to only those essential to the delivery of courses by alternative methods and business continuity processes on UNB Fredericton campus.
We understand that this is a difficult and confusing time for all. It is important for us to come together as a community and demonstrate patience and understanding. We need to work together to navigate the next few days.
More detailed information will be available for students, faculty, and staff as the situation evolves. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact president@unb.ca.
With kind regards,
Paul J. Mazerolle
President and Vice-Chancellor
