Swooning at the Salons

black and white image of musicians performing in a salon circa early 1800's

Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022 at 3 p.m.
Memorial Hall, UNB Fredericton

Featuring Nadia Francavilla (violin), Sally Dibblee (voice), Julien LeBlanc (piano) and Richard Hornsby (clarinet)

It's the early 1800s and you've no plans for the afternoon. What to do? Head to the salon, of course: where elite society gathers to debate grand ideas, discuss the news of the world, and perhaps make eyes at your most dashing distant cousin. And oh, the music! What are they coming out with these days, in Hamburg, in Paris? Everything new and each more romantic than the last. A confection of sounds; a delight not to be missed.

With Nadia Francavilla (violin), Sally Dibblee (voice), Julien LeBlanc (piano) and Richard Hornsby (clarinet), an intimate chamber music concert featuring the music of Erik Satie, Clara Schumann, Louis Spohr, Amy Beach, and Cécile Chaminade.
