Here’s a great opportunity to practice your French, while learning about Acadian French and the regional differences in the North, South, East and West of the province.

You’ll be introduced to unique slang, anglicisms and different French dialects from each area. All conversation will be in French and adult-themed topics will be touched upon. You’ll also experience Acadian pop culture by breaking down the lyrics of Acadian songs and reading excerpts from Acadian authors, along with exploring different scenarios and hypothetical situations.

No materials are required.

About the instructor

Nina Savoie-Colwell was born and raised on the Acadian peninsula in a bilingual household. She has taught conversational French, beginner & intermediate French, Acadian French, conversational English and ESL, as well as various types of art classes. For the last ten years, she has taught with CCNB, the Anglophone south school district, The College of Extended Learning and privately. Nina also has a background in fine arts, animation and graphics, as well as office administration, and she has a business degree for UNB. She is currently studying for her Masters of Education in Leadership online through Yorkville University and works full time as a eLearning Specialist for Toronto Film School.
