Undergraduate

AESL 1011 - English as a Second Language for Academic Purposes (3 ch)*

This is a practical course in the written and spoken use of language designed to meet the requirements of students whose first language is not English. The specialized curriculum is designed and delivered according to the needs of the students. Students may enroll in both AESL 1011 and AESL 1012 as they are not sequential in nature. NOTE: Students who already have credit for ENGL 1012 cannot obtain credit for AESL 1012.

Date: Tuesdays, July 6 to August 3, 2021
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. (Atlantic Daylight Time)

A blend of virtual face-to-face classes and independent learning that will focus on your reading, listening, writing and grammar skills.

AESL 2011 - Exploration of Literary English for Non-Anglophones (3 ch)*

More advanced than AESL 1011 and AESL 1012. Exclusively for students whose first language is not English. Encompasses examination of prose and poetry, and extensive composition. Emphasis is given to consideration of sophisticated English expression. Students may enroll in both AESL 2011 and AESL 2012 as they are not sequential in nature. NOTE: Students who already have credit for ENGL 2011 cannot obtain credit for AESL 2011.

Graduate

AESL 6021 - English as a Second Language (CR/NCR)

This is a class in English as a Second Language for non-Anglophone students. These classes are offered for graduate students who wish to improve their English Proficiency.
