Work-integrated learning

A head start on your career

These experiential education programs provide outstanding opportunities for work-integrated learning (WIL) at UNB:

These various types of career-focused experiential education opportunities give you the structure to apply the knowledge you gained and the skills you developed through your university education directly to the workplace. This provides students with an invaluable combination of on-the-job and academic experience.

Some optional work-integrated learning opportunities like co-ops and internships allow you some flexibility and opportunity. With some, you can earn academic credits towards your degree. Other programs are paid employment terms with a company in Canada, North America or abroad.

Faculties like nursing and education have work-based practicums built into their structured program. Regardless of the type of program, a combination of academic instruction and practical, hands-on experience in the workplace will give you an edge in launching your career once you graduate from UNB.
