Recipients must be accepted unconditionally as full-time students and must be candidates for a research based degree program. If the student does not hold an NSERC or SSHRC award, they must be offered and have accepted full assistantship support from the GAU. They must maintain full-time registration and first class academic performance throughout the tenure of the award. Students who subsequently transfer to a course-based program for completion of their degree, normally will be required to pay back all funds received through this award prior to their graduation. Preference will be given to those nominees who will be registering for the first time in SGS.
Candidates will be nominated by individual GAU's. Recipients may be nominated to hold award more than once, dependent upon evidence of satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
No application required, students are automatically eligible should they hold a Tricouncil Award.
