The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Social Worker with the Faculty of Nursing. This is a term, ending on October 31, 2022, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $56,157 - $73,006 per annum.
The Social Worker within the Mobile Seniors' Wellness Network project works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team within the communities included in the project (Fredericton, Fredericton Junction, Doaktown, Chipman and Nackawic), and with partners with many groups such as government organizations, non-profit organizations, the private sector, and a multitude of community groups and other community organizations.
Position summary:
- Assess, plan and provide supportive counselling to seniors and their families.
- Maintain clinical records and documentation, ensuring the confidentiality of the participant seniors.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
- Prepare and present information at the research team meetings.
- Contribute to the collection of qualitative date, analysis, and writing of final research reports.
- Participate in developing, maintaining, and evaluating policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Community Connector to identify community resources for seniors.
Requirements/Skills:
- Post-degree Bachelor of Social Work, a graduate degree would be considered an asset.
- 1 year of experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Research-related skills such as interviewing, qualitative analysis, and ability to write for a research project.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work in a team situation.
- Must be able to travel.
