The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Research Project Coordinator with the Faculty of Kinesiology. This is a term full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with the PTSU employee group. The position is funded by external monies with a salary range of $35,858 - $44,824 per annum.
The role of the Research Project Coordinator will be to facilitate the implementation of exercise programs across our communities in New Brunswick. The position is responsible for recruiting and training of leaders and participants for each program. The coordinator will work closely with our research partners, Horizon Health, and Fitness NB for the Zoomers on the Go Program, a free fall-prevention education and exercise program for people 50 years and older.
Position summary:
- Hire and train staff.
- Implement exercise programs with Horizon Health, Fitness NB, and outside communities.
- Recruit participants from community health centres from across the province.
- Write final project reports.
- Collect, revise, and integrate the project deliverables.
- Monitor the ethical aspects and required reports to funding agency within the group.
- Develop a project web page.
- Promotion of projects through social media and notices.
Requirements/Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in kinesiology, recreation, business and/or a combination of education and/or research experience.
- 3-5 years of related experience in a post-secondary environment and demonstrated relevant work experience in an academic setting.
- Analytical and critical thinking, and the ability to solve problems.
- Ability to manage others effectively.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Research experience with humans.
- Experience in project management.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, strong communication and writing skills.
