The University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, welcomes applications for the position of Clerk PL4 with Development & Donor Relations. This is a 1 year term, full-time leave replacement (36.25 hours per week) with the SALAC employee group. The position is funded by the University Budget with a salary range of $20.10 - $23.34 per hour.
This position is accountable to the Associate Director of Development & Donor Relations and the Manager of Advancement Services. It is responsible for the research and updating of biographical information for over 100,000 alumni/donors. This position works independently to research, establish and maintain personal and corporate relationships, demographic and other personal information within the Colleague database. Work is performed within the guidelines of DDR policies and procedures. Privacy policy guidelines (institutional, provincial and national) also play a significant role in this position.
Position summary:
- Responsible for maintaining up to date biographical and demographic information for all alumni, donors and potential donors.
- Responsible for researching and developing updated methods of determining and verifying required information using newest technology and social networking media.
- Works independently to resolve issues within the guidelines of UNB and DDR policy with respect to constituent data management and is responsible for the creating and updating of all constituent data (both individuals and corporations).
- Employ a variety of research tools such as traditional text and periodicals, internet and other databases, email and telephone to ensure up-to-date information is available for the prospect pool.
- Responds to telephone and email inquiries from a variety of University departments and external sources relating to data records management.
- Reviews online and mail donations, preparing donor records for gift processing by ensuring the required demographic data is correct and complete.
- Throughout the year, a number of scheduled and ad-hoc reports are processed to assist in maintaining data integrity for the over 100,000 constituents DDR has a relationship with. These clean-up projects may involve reaching out and/or collaborating with other offices on either campus in order to resolve data issues.
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of accuracy/attention to detail, efficiency and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, resolving data records issues requiring collaboration and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of research methods relating to person/corporate record maintenance and general database systems.
- Use of modern computer software, word processing, and spreadsheet skills are required.
