The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of IT Administrator with Student Services. This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week) one-year term position, with the possibility of renewal, with the PTSU employee group. The position is funded by the University Budget with a salary range of $44,050 - $57,226 per annum (a Market Differential may apply).
Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance and Operations, in Student Services, the Information Technology Administrator's primary role is to provide IT support for Student Services staff and students. This position is also responsible for liaising with ITS to advance IT related projects and for developing and maintaining relationships with external service providers. This position also provides guidance on IT related aspects of Student Services building construction and renovation projects.
Position summary:
- Troubleshoot problems experienced with computer equipment, determining if there is a hardware, software or network problem and determine corrective measures.
- Install, upgrade and/or replace hardware and software, computer components and accessories.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding licensing and service maintenance agreements.
- Make recommendations for upgrades and purchases as related to software and hardware.
- Coordinate hardware and software purchases.
- Maintain inventory of all computers, printers, software, and other related equipment.
- Provide website and display board support.
- Provide support for various software packages that are used by the department (Kx, Titanium, Velante, Blackboard, etc.)
- Provide support for Point of Sale equipment for the campus food service provider.
- Develop and manage RFPs and assist in negotiating contracts for Residence Communications services.
- Liaise and maintain relationships with external IT service providers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business with a focus in Information Technology
- 3-5 years of related experience with a strong background in computer technology including support and maintenance.
- Experience working with and supporting the software packages listed above.
- A strong customer service/ student service focus
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent Time management skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
