The University of New Brunswick, Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Relationship Development & Communications Coordinator with the NB Institute for Research, Data & Training. This is a 1-year term full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with the PTSU employee group. The position is funded by external monies with a salary range of $44,050 - $57,266 per annum.
The NB Institute for Research, Data & Training (NB-IRDT) is a research institute at UNB. The institute carries out evidence-based research to provide government, academics, and researchers with solid information to inform decisions that affect New Brunswickers.
The Relationship Development & Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for cultivating partnerships with data providers, potential partners and collaborators, as well as researchers and students who are interested in accessing data through NB-IRDT. This position is also responsible for leading the development and operations of an outreach plan that may involve communications, marketing, advertising, and public relations.
Position summary:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative outreach plan to expand NB-IRDT presence in the research community.
- Cultivate relationships with possible partners through presentations to individuals and groups in the private sector, government, NGOs and other organizations.
- Expand and enrich current relationships with stakeholders to increase their use of NB-IRDT research services. Inform and educate researchers and students on the process for accessing data.
- Establish a branding strategy in collaboration with UNB Marketing Office.
- Develop a communication strategy that includes outreach, marketing and media for NB-IRDT.
- Create templates for business reports, project research reports, brochures, booklets, and other print material.
- Develop and implement an effective means of disseminating results of research projects completed within NB-IRDT.
- Coordinate, collect and provide accurate and timely content from NB-IRDT staff for incorporation into all aspects of the NB-IRDT's communications plans.
- Assist to establish and maintain an internal communications strategy to ensure that NB-IRDT initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to the team and that internal communications are consistent with external communications messages.
Requirements/Skills:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience providing outreach, education or marketing activities.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior presentation skills for large or small groups.
- Demonstrated self-starter, decision maker and problem solver.
- Experience writing project plans, proposals and/or policy related documents is an asset.
- French is considered an asset.
