While in Fredericton, we hope you (and your family, if they are also joining us) will take advantage of some of the unique and interesting activities available to you. All events are open to conference attendees, as well as their families.
During the evenings (and during the days for your family members) there are a variety of activities available to you in the Fredericton area. Below are just a few possibilities you might wish to explore during your stay with us:
Biking
Explore the scenery of the Fredericton area and get some exercise. Bikes are available for rent at the following Fredericton locations:
River Trails Bike Rentals
Lighthouse on the Green
Bicycles, bike trailers and a tandem bicycle are available for rent. Helmets and locks are provided. $7/hour or $25 for the day.

Kayaking/Canoeing
Paddle along the beautiful St. John River on a leisurely, scenic, guided evening tour. Kayaks and canoes are available for rent from the following Fredericton area locations:
Small Craft Aquatic Centre
Woodstock Rd.
Canoe and kayak rentals. Guided nature tours. Free public boat launch for canoes, kayaks with vehicle parking available.

Hartt Island / Bucket Club
Rte 105
Along the River Valley Scenic Drive, overlooking the beautiful St. John River and within five minutes of downtown. This location offers tremendous opportunities to explore the St. John River. Canoe and kayak rentals, bike rental, and9.4 km Valley Trail. Barbeque pits & picnic tables are provided. Open: May 1 - October 31

Culture Crawl
Enjoy a self-guided tour throughout the downtown Fredericton area – see the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, museums and other points of interest all within walking distance in the downtown core.
Pub Crawl
Sample fare – food, spirits and entertainment – from various pubs throughout the downtown area. Take yourself and a few friends and explore a variety of “gems” that can be found in the downtown area. May we suggest stops at the Snooty Fox, the Ale House, Dolan’s Pub and the Lunar Rogue…just to name a few of the great watering holes in downtown Fredericton.
Clay Café
Bringing the kids along? A visit to the Clay Café is a must! Located on Queen Street in downtown Fredericton, Clay Café is a "paint-your-own pottery" studio designed for all age groups - a relaxed, café-like atmosphere for people to enjoy painting on pottery. The studio has over 300 kinds of pottery to paint…plates, bowls, mugs, teapots, vases, and lots of cool designs for kids!
Fitness at UNB
Looking for a little exercise? We have lots of options available for you! Visit UNB website to find a variety of recreation and exercise activities available to you during the STLHE Conference, including weight and cardio rooms, pool, squash court, climbing wall, badminton court, etc.
