Saint John Senate

In accordance with the University of New Brunswick Act, the Saint John Senate is chaired by the President of UNB and draws its members from faculty, students, alumni, senior administration and members from the Board of Governors, with 38 members overall. The Saint John Senate will normally meet 7 times during the academic year. The regular work of Senate includes awarding degrees and scholarships; approving programs, curriculum  and admission standards for the University; and determines the academic regulation and policy of the University.

The Saint John Senate has 15 standing committees which consider matters prior to going to Senate for approval.  The terms of reference and composition of the standing committees can be viewed on the Saint John Senate website.
