(a) Terms of Reference

  • hear appeals on academic matters, including final appeals (subject to the Senate approved Academic Appeals Procedure);

  • hear appeals concerning admission and for readmission.

(b) Membership

Membership: (11)             

Voting Members: (7 or 8)               

Quorum: (4 voting members other than the student representative.)

Ex-Officio:

  • Registrar (SJ) or designate (non-voting)

  • Director of Student Life and Support Services (non-voting)

  • Assoc. Registrar or designate- Secretary (non-voting)

  • Officer, School of Graduate Studies (Normally the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies)

 Appointed: (on the recommendation of the Senate Nominating Committee)

  • 3 SJ Faculty members of the Student Standings and Promotions Committee (Plus 3 alternates, one from each Faculty)

  • 3 SJ Faculty from the Saint John Admissions Committee (Plus 3 alternates, one from each Faculty)

  • 1 Student recommended by the Student Representative Council to the Senate Nominating Committee (Voting except for purposes in relation to determination of examination results and the award of degrees, certificates and diplomas in course.)  Plus one (1) alternate student member.

(c) Chair

A Senator appointed by Senate on the recommendation of the Senate Nominating Committee.

 

(d) Vice-Chair

A Senator appointed by Senate on the recommendation of the Senate Nominating Committee.
