(a) Terms of Reference

(Revised by F. Senate May 1997; September 2001; October 2002; September 2004; and September 2008) 

The Committee will:

  1. advise Senate on matters of general policy pertaining to student experience with particular reference to services broadly available to students of the University (e.g. health, counselling, orientation, athletics);
  2. liaise with academic units and offices and student organizations on any matters concerning students and their needs on campus;
  3. liaise with UNBSJ through the membership on this Committee of a Saint John appointee and meet together with the Saint John Senate Student Life and Support Services Committee at least once annually;
  4. liaise with St. Thomas University through the membership on this Committee of a St. Thomas appointee;*
  5. make recommendations to Senate relating to services broadly available to students of the University (e.g. health, counselling, orientation, athletics);
  6. report to Senate at least once each academic year on the Committee's activities.
