Orientation for new teachers

The Teaching and Learning Centre & the Vice-President's Excellence in Teaching Committee hosted an orientation day for new teachers at UNB Saint John on August 30, 2012.

New academic colleagues (faculty, contract academic employees and graduate student teaching assistants) were invited to participate. This year we also encouraged involvement of not just new teachers but also those who have been at our campus for 5 years or less.

The orientation day provided an introduction to key services, resources, programs and people in our teaching and learning community. Just in Time for Teaching discussions and activities were designed to help to support participants' new beginnings in the classroom. One session along this theme was an Introduction to the Syllabus.

Feedback from this year's orientation will be used in preparing for next years orientation. Thanks to all who presented and to all who attended.
