MADSAM Sturgeon Physiology Lab
My basic research program focuses on the influence of various environmental (e.g., temperature, hypoxia) and endogenous (e.g. starvation, exercise) stresses on metabolism in fish.
From a comparative viewpoint, I am particularly interested in the importance of developmental stage and body size on the energy metabolism in fish.
My applied research program (supported by previous funds from the Sir James Dunn Funds and Atlantic Salmon Federation) focuses on:
- aspects of catch and release angling in salmon (research in N.B.) and bass (research in Ontario)
- the use of triploids in aquaculture (research in N.B.)
