The biological sciences department of the faculty of science, applied science and engineering is comprised of biology, chemistry and geology. It is housed in William F. Ganong and K.C. Irving Halls as well as the Canadian Rivers Institute building.
Departmental facilities include laboratories for teaching and research including wet labs for live animals, a cold room, and a greenhouse. The department's wet laboratories in KC Irving Hall and Ganong Hall are equipped with running seawater and dechlorinated freshwater for marine and aquatic organisms.
UNB Saint John's large wooded campus is situated on the banks of the St. John - Kennebecasis estuarine complex and is within minutes of the Bay of Fundy. Our location provides easy access to marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems for class field trips and research sites.
