In additional to having small class sizes and personable Instructors, UNB Saint John has taken extra steps to ensure you have the tools to succeed in university math and science.

The Flora Beckett Math and Science Help Centre provides additional help to students encountering problems in their mathematics and intro science classes. The Help Centre comprises a team of qualified tutors coordinated by a faculty member from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Services provided through the Help Centre are free to all full and part-time UNB students.

Drop-in tutoring help is available and no appointments are needed. The Centre is located in the Hans. W. Klohn Commons, rooms 133 and 134.

Pre-calculus workshops

We'll be offering a series of workshops Aug 28-30 to assist students in preparing for the Math Placement Test. The workshops will focus on reviewing and practicing the concepts and skills needed for first year mathematics courses.

Employment opportunities

The Flora Beckett Math and Science Help Centre is currently looking for qualified student tutors in first year math, stats, engineering, physics, chemistry, and biology courses.
