Check in to your new home

Students are only allowed to move in on their specified move-in day between 8am-5pm.

Due to logistics and Orientation, students are only permitted to move in early if they are a co-op student and must start their work term early, are an international student with a pre-arranged flight itinerary, or are a student athlete who must come back early.  Proof is required.  This must be communicated with the Residence Life Office by e-mailing reslife@unb.ca with your request and either faxing or emailing your supporting documentation.  You will receive an e-mail from the Coordinator whether your request is approved or denied.

Moving in on specified day, but not during check-in hours?

If you are not arriving between 8 am and 5 pm on your specified move-in day, please e-mail res@unb.ca with your name, room #/residence and let us know when you will be arriving. That way we can ensure an RA is here to great you, check you into residence and get you settled into your new home. It is recommended as a new student that you try to check in during regular hours, this way you will be able to participate in all the activities, meet all the staff and receive the same experience as all the other students.

If you are unsure of your arrival date and time and you arrive at residence and no one is around to greet you, you will have to contact the Security Office which is located in the Athletics Centre on the main floor (first building on the right when you enter the campus).

Security will then contact the RA on duty and meet you at the Sir James Dunn Residence.

Directions

Please refer to the campus map, to get a better idea where you must go once you pass through the campus gates.

Once you arrive to Residence

Regardless of what residence you live in, the check in area is located at the front of the Mackay.  Here you will meet the Residence Life Team and Residence Council, and to be checked in by an RA.  If you are arriving after 5 pm, please notify Residence Admissions.
