How to apply
New students are assigned rooms on a first-come-first-served basis.
Most years the residence fills by the end of June and students applying after that date are put on a waiting list.
International students are advised to obtain a study visa prior to sending the deposit as it is non-refundable.
Step 1: Once you find out if you are admitted to UNB Saint John to study, you should then submit a residence application.
Step 2: Once you find out if you are admitted to live in Residence by Residence Admissions, you need to fill out and hand in a $500 residence deposit.
What is a Residence deposit?
A residence deposit is required before a student can be accepted into residence.
Returning students submit their $500 deposit on their readmission form.
The entire deposit will be forfeited if a student cancels their room or fails to take the accommodation reserved for them. Once the deposit is received the Residence Admission Office can setup a room on behalf of the student.
Residence fees are added to a student's account and a student pays for residence in the same manner as they pay for tuition. Fees are due at the beginning of September for the fall term and the beginning of January for the winter term.
Early in winter term, returning students will be able to submit a re-admission form.
Fill out the returning student application form. Your room choice, meal plan or flex dollar choice and room deposit fee can all be found on this one form. Be sure once you apply to come to the Residence Admissions Office to pay your $500 room deposit.
Returning students have the month of February to choose their rooms and roommate requests for fall/winter term. The deadline to re-apply is March 1. After this date, current student applications will go into the normal pool of prospective resident students applications and your roommate and room are not guaranteed.
If you have any questions please email or call the Residence Admissions Office.
Residence fees are due on the dates indicated on the fee schedule and are submitted to the Student Accounts office located in Philip W. Oland Hall.
Residence fees include the furnished room, heat, lights, hot water, Aliant high-speed internet, Rogers Cable TV and local phone service (a calling card is needed for long distance calls).
Fees also include the meal plan, house dues and laundry facilities.
