Electronic Waste Program at UNBSJ
We have a program to dispose of electronic waste, including computers, TVs, CRTs et cetera.
All e-waste is to come to HH351 prior to being placed in the disposal room so it can be properly processed before disposal. If you have a large amount of e-waste, enough that would overwhelm the space available in HH351, then you should place a ticket in footprints by emailing helpline@unbsj.ca requesting assistance with the disposal of this e-waste. We will arrange a time to process the equipment and properly prepare it for disposal.
Any electronic equipment such as clock radios, VCRs, computers to scientific measurement equipment can be recycled. We will accept TVs and CRT monitors as well, however TVs and CRT monitors contain lead and as a result, they are expensive to dispose of so we would like to minimize these components as much as possible. The general rule is if it is an electronic device which has surpassed its useful life, we will recycle it. If you are not sure if we can recycle your equipment please contact us at helpline@unsbj.ca and ask before you toss it in the garbage.
Thank you for participating in this program and taking one more step towards making UNB a greener corporate citizen.
