Brenda Collings, BBA, MBA, CA
Brenda Collings joined the Faculty of Business in the fall of 2007 and is a member of the Accounting Group. She teaches Accounting for Managers I, Accounting for Managers II, Intermediate Accounting I, and Managerial Finance in the undergraduate program and Financial and Managerial Accounting in the MBA and E-MBA programs.
Brenda has served on faculty, campus and university-wide committees to support the work of UNB. Currently these include Saint John Senate, Senate’s Academic Planning & Resources Committee, the Senate Review Committee, the Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada-Conference Committee, the President’s Steering Committee on Experiential Education, the Faculty of Business Curriculum Committee, the UNB Saint John's Vice-President’s Excellence in Teaching Committee, the University-wide Budget Management Committee, and the OREO competition committee.
Prior to joining UNB Saint John, Brenda enjoyed over 20 years of working with, and learning from some great public servants and entrepreneurs in Atlantic Canada. Her diverse career has included the following positions: Town Manager for the Town of Hampton, District Manager for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) Saint John office, an Account Manager for ACOA in Halifax, N.S. and she began her career with Deloitte’s in Halifax where she obtained her CA designation.
Brenda has an MBA from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Business Administration from UNB, and a Diploma in University Teaching from UNB Saint John.
Brenda provides support to volunteer organizations and groups such as the NB Financial Education Network, Junior Achievement-Southwest NB Local Council, the Town of Hampton Health Care Committee, Family Plus, and various groups support Cystic Fibrosis Research and Organ Donation.
