Wenmei Li, B.Eng., Dip. Tourism, MA
Wenmei Li works within the Bachelor of Applied Management Hospitality and Tourism (BAMHT) program, She is a part-time instructor and a Research Associate, supports research efforts, statistics and works with graduate as well as undergraduate students.
She received her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (major in road and bridge) from Tongji University Shanghai, as well as professional certifications, Senior Engineer and Senior City Planner issued by Evaluation Committee of Professional Titles of Hainan China. She was one of four town planners and engineers that designed the Greenfield city of Zhuhai in Guangdong Province China in 1985. She became a deputy general manager for China Huandao (Group), one of the largest property development companies in Hainan China.
After immigrating to New Zealand from China, she completed a Graduate Diploma and Master’s degree in Tourism from Massey University, Albany.
She is presently researching World Heritage Site brand recognition and has interest in culinary, image literacy and urban tourism as well as town planning. She has recently completed studies on Tea Tourism and Heritage Site Management at the Macau World Heritage Site.
