Small business internship program

The Electronic Commerce Research & Training Center is the delivery partner for New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island with Industry Canada’s Small Business Internship Program (SBIP).

The SBIP was developed by Industry Canada to help address the issue that a significant number of businesses are simply connected to the Internet, or are passively on-line, and not taking advantage of the possibilities offered by e-business and e-marketing tools with their current web site.

The SBIP provides small and medium businesses financial support to hire a post secondary student intern to assist them in their adoption of e-business strategies that will help increase their productivity and competitiveness.

In the 2009 – 2010 internship period, our centre will oversee 25 student interns and businesses in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. In efforts to strengthen the impact of the work term, students and employers are encouraged to attend our Marketing on the Internet Workshop.   

Building a resume and building a customer base – this SBIP is a fantastic opportunity for students and businesses alike.
