About us

With the intent of building partnerships and external relationships, the University of New Brunswick SJ’s Electronic Commerce Research & Training Centre (ECC) conducts e-business and e-commerce research as well as develops educational curriculum for the private, public and academic sectors.

The centre's main goal is to help Small Medium Enterprise's (SME’s) from across Atlantic Canada grow their businesses through the effective use of the Internet and Internet based technologies.

These goals are obtained through the execution of applied research programs, SME centered training programs and consulting activities.

Over the past four years the ECC has executed 3 extensive SME research studies intent on learning:

  • what SME’s are doing / not doing with e-commerce, e-business & e-marketing
  • what the drivers to using e-solutions are and
  • what their intent is over the near term

As a result of this research, we have built and delivered two extensive training programs:

  •  e-business Awareness Program (2004 – 2007)
    • delivered to 806 SME’s (primarily from New Brunswick)
    • delivered via online, CDRoM and 1 day seminars
  • Marketing on the Internet Program (2008 - present)
    • delivered to over 500 SME’s & stakeholders to-date via 55 one day seminars
