Degree: Bachelor of Science
2nd yr with the Seawolves
Sumire started playing volleyball in middle school. Her first year of provincial league play was U14 and the following year we won the Volleyball NB U15 Championship title (bleu et or).
Sumire's last season of play was with the Moncton Roofers and her high school. She had the distinction of being named the team captain for both teams which speaks to her leadership abilities with the Seawolves.
"I love all aspects of the game but my favorite part is the intensity and rush after a big hit."
Sumire has volunteered her time at the Salisbury public library for kid's programs, at various church functions such as church suppers at Saint Jude's Catholic Church in Salisbury and has been a scorekeeper for volleyball tournaments. She is the recipient of the Governor Thomas Carleton Scholarship.
Sumire is looking forward to a season filled with hard work, improvement and fun. Her personal goal for the season is to improve her technique and to be more consistent with all that she does on the court.
