Cross country

The cross country program has a history of producing outstanding runners. Coach Tim Randall has been instrumental in developing and nurturing some of the best talent in Canada and has created a deep, rich tradition of excellence in the cross country program at UNB.

The cross country program competes in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) levels, which are the highest levels of varsity sport in Canada. This provides many young runners in the area and beyond with the opportunity to aspire to reach their athletic potential by competing against the best.

UNB students from both Saint John and Fredericton will have the opportunity to compete for the V-Reds. This program is the UNB’s first truly bi-campus varsity program, with the coaching teams being on both campuses.

The coaching staff has outstanding experience – Tim Randall, Chris Gairns, Alex Coffin and Renee Embree all have experienced success as runners and they plan to mold the UNB team into champions. Bill MacMackin will oversee all aspects of the program.
