Monica was introduced to basketball by a friend at the age of eight and has remained addicted to the sport ever since.  She has been a part of many rep teams as a young kid and also had the great experience of participation on two provincial teams; U16 & U17.  During the summer of 2011, her U17 provincial tam hand the opportunity to participate at the national Championships held in Winnipeg, Manitoba .

There are many aspects of basketball that Monica enjoys,  but her favourite part is meeting new people, forming friendships and playing as a team.  "I love basketball, but if there wasn't an opportunity to playing with good friends it wouldn't be fun," says Monica.

Monica is looking forward to having a winning season and developing her individual skills.  She also feels that sharing the experience with friends, being able to laugh and having fun is what makes the season memorable.  "I think our team is very strong this year, so finishing in the top 3 or 4 would be awesome".
