Graduate programs, UNB Saint John ArtsThe Master of Arts in interdisciplinary studies will prepare you for a careers requiring creative thinking where you need to think outside the box.

You will study innovative responses to complex 21st century social, economic, scientific and intellectual problems. This program is perfect for individuals returning to university after time in the workforce.


At UNB Saint John, the Master of Arts degree in psychology focuses on experimental and applied psychology. Admission to this program is normally for those students who have a BA/BSc Honours degree in psychology. The graduate record examination (GRE) scores will also be taken into consideration as part of the admission process.

A Ph.D in psychology is offered jointly with UNB Fredericton. Programs in clinical psychology and experimental/applied psychology are available.

The Sociology discipline offers students an opportunity to complete both master's (MA) and doctoral (Ph.D) degrees at the Saint John campus. 

Graduate studies in sociology have been developed jointly with the Fredericton sociology department. Students admitted to the Master's (MA) and Doctoral (PhD) programs will take some courses at the Fredericton campus but can complete other courses, their practicums, and Teaching Assistantships, at the Saint John campus.
