Social Sciences
The social sciences are concerned with the contemporary problems of people in society.
There are four areas of study available within the social science department at the University of New Brunswick Saint John: economics, information and communication studies, sociology, and sport and exercise psychology.
Sociology professor Joe Galbo has been announced as the UNB Saint John manager for the North American Mobility Program.
Education
The social science department also houses education at UNB Saint John. For those interested in earning an education degree, there are two possible routes to do this; the concurrent BEd (elementary school) or the consecutive BEd.
In the case of a concurrent BEd (elementary school), after you successfully complete at least one year of your first degree, you apply to the concurrent program and complete your studies at UNB Saint John.
If you choose the consecutive BEd, you can complete your first degree in Saint John and apply to UNB Fredericton education to obtain your BEd degree.
