Presenter, Jen Moore from Mining Watch Canada

Latin America Program Coordinator of Mining Watch Canada, Jennifer Moore works on the Guatemala/Goldcorp campaign and on supporting communities, organizations, and networks struggling with mining issues throughout Latin America. Jennifer is a freelance print and broadcast journalist with twelve years’ experience in social justice journalism, a third of which she has gained while living and working in Ecuador. While in South America from 2006 to 2010, she researched and wrote popular and academic articles about the struggles of indigenous and non-indigenous communities affected by Canadian-financed mining companies.

She is Senior Policy Advisor on Women’s Rights and Global Issues at Oxfam Canada. She has years of international development research, policy and advocacy experience. I am passionate about the creation of policies that promote social justice and reduce inequalities at home and abroad. I have worked extensively on issues such as: educational equity, women's rights policy, Canadian foreign policy, Canadian international development policy, rights-based approaches to trade and investment, corporate accountability and social determinants of health.
