Dr. Leslie Jeffrey
Dr. Leslie Jeffrey is a Professor of Comparative Politics
and International Relations. She has a BA (Hons) from Acadia University,
an MA from Carleton
University and a PhD from
York University in Political Science. In her
research she focuses on gender, human rights and national and international
policy. In particular, she has done extensive research on sex-trade policies in
Canada
and around the world. She has published two books with UBC Press: “Sex and
Borders: Gender, National Identity and Prostitution Policy in Thailand” and,
with Dr. Gayle MacDonald “Sex Workers in the Maritimes Talk Back” and published
a number of articles on policies on sex-work and trafficking in persons. She
teaches a variety of courses on international issues including human rights,
food politics, gender, international relations and developing world politics.
