Advising for first year students

1st year arts studentPlease review the information under Advising & Course Groupings if you have not completed your grouping requirement.

Students already in progress of their BA degree need to register for your 2013-2014 courses before seeing the Academic Advisor, Tanya Pitt in Oland Hall, Ground Floor, Room 18A. The Academic Advisor will not select your courses for you.  The 2013-2014 timetable of courses is now posted on the university website and registration for continuing UNB students opened on Monday, March 18.

Students are seen during Open Office Hours on a first to arrive - first to be advised basis. Appointments are not made. Print off a copy of your unofficial UNB transcript, available in your e-Services under the academic tab, and bring this with you when you attend advising.

Open Office Hours starting Monday, September 16 to Tuesday, December 17 are as follows:

Monday 9:00 - 11:30 am
Tuesday 1:30 - 4:00 pm
Thursday 9:00 - 11:30 am

Open Office Hours will be cancelled on the following days:

  • Monday, November 4 up to and including Thursday, November 21 resuming on Monday, November 25, 2013.

Due to asthma and allergies please refrain from smoking and wearing perfume, cologne, deodorant, after shave, body sprays, and other scented products when you come to the office for advising. Thank you.

If you email Tanya please be sure that you include your name, student number and your career/educational goals along with the list of courses that you are registered for. The Academic Advisor will look your selections over and make recommendations based on all of this information.
