W. C. Desmond Pacey Memorial Lecture
Hosted by the faculty of arts on both UNB campuses, the W.C. Desmond Pacey Memorial Lecture is presented by leading figures in humanities and social sciences. It was established in 1981 to honour the late Desmond Pacey, a distinguished UNB professor and administrator who died in 1975.
The 2012-2013 Lecture will be held at UNB Saint John at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Oland Hall 104. Juggling Work & Family: What Women Leaders Can Teach Us will be presented by Dr. Diane Halpern, the McElwee Family Professor of Psychology & Roberts Fellow, Claremont McKenna College, and past-president of the American Psychological Association.
W. Stewart MacNutt Memorial Lecture
The annual W. Stewart MacNutt Memorial Lecture honours the late historian, professor and humanitarian for his many contributions to UNB and to the development of Atlantic Canadian history as a field of study.
Boom, Bust and Bluster: The Oil Daze of Newfoundland and Labrador, Atlantic Canada's "Have" Province will be presented by Professor Sean Cadigan of the Department of History at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Professor Cadigan is the author of a recent prize-winning history of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The 2013 Lecture will be held at UNB Saint John on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 5:30 pm in Oland Hall Room 104.
