Robotics

The Robotics Foundation of the University of New Brunswick aims to promote engineering and the sciences and the benefits of acquiring knowledge thereof to all people.

We aim to encourage an atmosphere of intellectual integrity at all of our events, and a team spirit of scientific enjoyment. We promote our events not only to UNB students, but to students of all local and national educational facilities as well as community members.

ECE Robotics Competition

Since 2001, we have been organizing the Annual Robotics Competition of the Electrical & Computer Engineering department.

The upcoming competition will be held Jan. 12-14, 2018. The registration deadline is Dec. 15.

16 teams from across Canada will compete head-to-head for the grand prize in an exciting and educational engineering challenge. The diversity of competitors and the "Weekend-long" format make for a new and exciting experience year after year. University, college and high school students, as well as any member of the community can participate. You don't have to be an engineering guru to join!

Find us on Facebook for the latest news and updates regarding the upcoming competition.

Competitors are provided with a wireless control system and materials to build a basic moving robot to complete a task, which is announced at the opening ceremonies. Teams have to devise an efficient and resourceful solution in order to beat out the competition and take home the top prize.

The event is open for the public to view for free on the competition day where you can find us in the Dineen Auditorium in Head Hall.
