- Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - NBHRF Hosts the First Annual NB Health Research Funders Meeting
New Brunswick Health Research Funders are being invited to attend the first annual NB Funders Meeting hosted by the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation on March 19 in Fredericton. Representatives from the six groups that provide financial and other support to the health research enterprise in the province (i.e., health charities, hospital foundations, health and life science industries, federal funding agencies, the provincial government, and regional health authorities) will share information on their respective organizations, the current state of health research in New Brunswick and ideas for working together to achieve growth and success in the sector.

La Fondation de la recherche en santé du Nouveau-Brunswick invite les bailleurs de fonds de la recherche en santé du Nouveau-Brunswick à assister à la première assemblée annuelle des bailleurs de fonds du Nouveau-Brunswick qui se tiendra le 19 mars, à Fredericton. Des représentants des six groupes qui offrent un soutien financier et autre forme de soutien au milieu de la recherche en santé de la province, à savoir organismes de bienfaisance du domaine de la santé, fondations hospitalières, industries de la santé et des sciences de la vie, bailleurs de fonds fédéraux, gouvernement provincial et régies régionales de la santé échangeront de l’information sur leur organisation respective, sur l’état actuel de la recherche en santé au Nouveau-Brunswick et sur des façons de collaborer pour faire avancer le secteur et favoriser sa réussite.

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Population and Public Health (CIHR-IPPH) is hosting a webinar on using social media for population and public health researchers. This is the second in a series of communications webinars hosted by the Institute.
You are also encouraged to apply for a free full-day communications workshop before Friday, March 15, 2013 at 5:00pm PST. Space is limited to a maximum of 30 participants, and the notice of decision will be in April 2013. Eligible travel and accommodation expenses for successful applicants will be reimbursed by the sponsors.

- Thursday, February 21, 2013 - CIHR President Coming to New Brunswick: PREPARE TO BE HEARD; HAVE YOUR SAY!
The New Brunswick Health Research foundation is welcoming CIHR President Dr. Alain Beaudet and his staff on Thursday, Feb. 21 for a meeting with NB Stakeholders. Topics include the new Open suite of programs and peer review process; the end of the Regional Partnership Program; plans for new programming, particularly the Strategy for Patient Oriented Research (SPOR); and the need for capacity building in New Brunswick. The meeting will take place in Room 53, MacLaggan Hall, UNB Fredericton from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. All health researchers are welcome.

La Fondation de la recherche en santé du Nouveau-Brunswick accueillera le président des IRSC, Dr Alain Beaudet, et des membres de son personnel le jeudi 21 février pour une réunion avec les parties prenantes du Nouveau-Brunswick. Il sera entre autres question de la série de programmes ouverts et du processus d’évaluation par les pairs, de la disparition du Programme de partenariats régionaux, de nouveaux projets de programmes, et en particulier de la Stratégie de recherche axée sur le patient (SRAP), et de la nécessité de renforcer la capacité au Nouveau-Brunswick. La réunion se tiendra salle 53, MacLaggan Hall, UNB Fredericton, de

- Week of January 28, 2013 - Webinar: NSERC CREATE Program
In preparation for the next CREATE competition (description below), NSERC will hold two information sessions, one in English and one in French, during the week of January 28th. They will use a webinar format for the presentation, and participants will be able to communicate (verbally) by teleconference. Potential applicants, as well as current CREATE grantees, are encouraged to attend.
